To obtain a builder's or contractor's license in New South Wales, you must have at least two years' relevant experience in the industry, acquired within the last ten years. This experience is essential, with one of the following qualifications:

CPC40120 (current) Certificate IV in Building and Construction
CPC40320 (current) Certificate IV in support of construction projects
Certificate IV in Building and Construction (various specializations such as contract administration, estimating, site management)
In addition, one of the following titles is required:
A valid carpentry or masonry contractor's license or a supervisor's certificate
A Diploma in Building and Construction (Construction) - CPC50220 (current), BCG50206, CPC50208 or CPC50210
A degree in construction, construction management, general construction, construction economics, quantity surveying or applied science (construction) from an Australian university
