Different Licence Classes

VBA offers 30 different license classes, each suitable for different types of construction work. These include:

Residential builders - No limi
An unlimited house builder is responsible for carrying out, managing or organizing for the completion of all elements of construction work for the construction, renovation, improvement or maintenance of a house (buildings of classes 1, 2 and 4 and related buildings of grade 10).
Eligibility Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management and Economics from Holmesglen, OR
Bachelor of Construction Management (Hons) from Deakin University, OR
Diploma in Building and Construction (CPC50210 or CPC50220).
Project Manager - Residential
A residential project manager is responsible for managing or organizing the completion of residential construction work by a licensed residential builder. He cannot do the work himself and he cannot hire an unlicensed builder to do the construction work.
Qualification requirements:
Bachelor of Construction Management and Economics
Bachelor of Construction Management (Hons)
Postgraduate Diploma in Construction Management
Diploma in Building and Construction (Management) (CPC50308 or CPC50320)
Plus various limited courses from local builders
This means being licensed only for specific jobs, such as bathrooms, kitchens and laundry, or masonry and block paving. Each limited class has its own unique responsibilities and limitations, so it's important to choose the one that best fits your planned construction work.
Course requirements will depend on the type of restricted license.
VBA may consider other qualifications to be equivalent to the license requirements above, or consider them as part of a comprehensive assessment of your skills and experience.
